Keeping Connected

It’s amazing to think that a little over 20 years ago most of us had never heard of the Internet. Now we take it for granted and depend on it for work, communication, entertainment, and information; and we become incredibly frustrated if we can’t make an instant connection. Long gone are the days of dial-up when I would happily go and make a cup of tea waiting for a successful connection! Now we feel so bereft when, for whatever reason, our Internet fails or we can’t find a signal, and we lose our access to the world wide web. Suddenly so much of life grinds to a halt!

Sometimes it can feel that way with God – some days he seems very close and others a million miles away. But the promise that is made most often in the Bible, and the one that Jesus made to his friends before he ascended into heaven was, “I will be with you always, until the end of the age”. I’ve certainly discovered this to be true in my life, and it goes with Jesus’ promise to give us life in all its fullness. Wonderful to know then that the one thing we really need to live this life to the full, is constant, faithful and not dependent on being able to find wifi.
